The DBA by Research program is ideal for candidates who have substantial work experience but do not have any previous experience in scholarly work or writing research papers, that is, they do not have any published scholarly thesis.
Candidates in the DBA by Research program develop the key skills and mindset required to pursue doctoral programs. They are trained in the planning and execution of extensive research along with data accumulation and analysis, and the presentation of evidence-based business solutions and strategies for real-world scenarios.
The course starts with the research methodology module where the students learn about qualitative and quantitative approaches and develop a research proposal. Then the students undertake the research action under the guidance of an experienced mentor and produce the final doctorate thesis of no less than 30000 words. After the submission of the research thesis, a viva voce will be conducted where the students need to defend their research thesis.
Candidates are also encouraged to attend seminars and conferences of their choice and present scholarly papers while they are pursuing their Doctorate in Business Administration.
