East Bridge University recognises that women learners often face challenges such as financial constraints, cultural limitations, a lack of confidence, and a lack of guidance on the path to higher education.
Our Access and Participation Policy, developed in adherence to SDG 5: Gender Equality, addresses these challenges by focusing on increasing applications from women by ensuring transparency, fairness, and sustained engagement throughout their academic experience.
This policy ensures that our female students receive comprehensive support throughout their academic tenure at East Bridge University. This includes support from the initial queries to enrolment across the final stages of degree completion.
Gender-Inclusive Campaigns That Encourage Women to Apply
One of the most important aspects of this policy is the systematic review of program presentations, the communication of entry requirements, and the content of outreach materials, to enable prospective women learners to effectively engage with our programs.
At EBU, we always strive to ensure women across the globe feel represented enough in higher education and gain the confidence to pursue their academic aspirations by believing academic opportunities are accessible and relevant to them.
Targeted outreach campaigns aim to engage with women in underrepresented fields and regions, especially those who may not traditionally consider pursuing higher education. We collaborate with local community networks and support groups, as well as with our international education partners, to help us extend our efforts to provide equitable education to all.
Scholarships and Targeted Support for Women Learners
We recognise that financial barriers are among the most significant obstacles to women’s participation in higher education. Hence, we have incorporated scholarships and targeted financial support for women through the Access and Participation Policy, particularly those from underrepresented or economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
In addition to financial support, EBU provides women learners with access to mentoring networks, academic guidance, and peer communities to assist them in navigating academic and personal challenges.
Creating a Thriving Environment for Women through Continuous Monitoring
Through the Access and Participation Policy, we further ensure that women learners receive the best educational experience through continuous monitoring and improvement. This systematic tracking of women’s applications, admissions, enrolment, and participation trends across programs.
Women learners are further encouraged to voice their experiences, participate in academic dialogue, and take up leadership opportunities within the university community. Our trained faculty and administrative teams guide and support diverse learning needs, fostering inclusive academic spaces.
Aligning Policy with Purpose
EBU’s Access and Participation Policy reflects our wider mission to promote education that is ethical, inclusive, and globally responsible. By aligning institutional practice with SDG 5: Gender Equality, the university demonstrates how policy can translate values into action.
This initiative also furthers our efforts to align with global benchmarks, including the THE's focus on women’s participation, reinforcing the university’s credibility and commitment to measurable impact.
At East Bridge University, gender equality is not addressed through isolated initiatives but is integrated into the university’s planning, decision-making, and operations.
