Dr Janat Leads Public Research Methodology Workshop at EBU's Dubai Centre to Promote Lifelong Learning

12th December 2025

At East Bridge University, we truly believe that learning should never stop—and it should never be limited to a classroom. That belief came alive at our Dubai Centre on 25–26 November 2025, when we proudly hosted a 2-day public workshop on “Research Methodology – Simplified” at Dubai Knowledge Park.

Led by our Director General, Dr Janat Clemis, the workshop brought together a vibrant mix of Doctorate learners, educators, working professionals, and curious lifelong learners—all under one roof, united by a shared passion for research and discovery.

This initiative was our way of actively contributing to SDG 4 – Quality Education and fulfilling global expectations for meaningful, public-facing, lifelong learning, as encouraged by Times Higher Education.

Day 1: Making Research Feel Simple, Practical, and Less Intimidating

We kicked off Day 1 with one clear goal: to make research feel less overwhelming and much more approachable. Dr Janat guided participants through the very foundations of research—breaking complex ideas into simple, practical steps that anyone could apply.

Together, we explored:

  • How to clearly frame research problems and objectives
  • The essentials of structuring proposals and applied research projects
  • Real-life problem-solving through interactive discussions and peer learning
  • One-on-one guidance as participants shared their own research challenges

The room was filled with energy and curiosity. Whether someone was starting their very first research project or returning to academia after years in industry, we saw confidence growing with every session.

Day 2: Going Deeper into Writing, Analysis, and Research Confidence

On Day 2, we shifted gears towards advanced research applications and academic writing—two areas that often feel daunting but are absolutely essential.

Participants worked closely with Dr Janat on:

  • Sharpening research questions and frameworks
  • Strengthening data collection and analysis strategies
  • Improving academic writing, argument clarity, and proper referencing
  • Applying solutions directly to their own real-world research projects

To celebrate their dedication and progress, we were delighted to award official Certificates of Participation to all attendees—recognising not just their attendance, but their commitment to learning and growth.

Why Hosting This at Dubai Knowledge Park Mattered to Us?

Hosting this workshop at Dubai Knowledge Park wasn’t just about location—it was about placing learning right at the heart of a thriving knowledge ecosystem.

We saw:

  • Educators are rethinking how they approach classroom research
  • Professionals discovering how research can sharpen workplace decisions
  • Doctorate learners are gaining fresh clarity and confidence to move forward with their dissertations

This wasn’t theoretical learning—it was hands-on, applied, and deeply relevant to real careers and real challenges.

Our Bigger Vision: Learning That Truly Has No Limits

For us, this workshop was more than just a 2-day event. It was a powerful reminder of why we do what we do.

We are committed to:

  • Making quality education accessible to wider communities
  • Supporting lifelong learners at every stage of their journey
  • Encouraging critical thinking, ethical research, and real-world impact
  • Creating opportunities where academic knowledge meets practical application

The overwhelming response and engagement we witnessed in Dubai have inspired us to do even more. We’re excited to continue hosting open workshops, skill-focused short courses, and public learning initiatives through our Dubai Centre—so that research, education, and opportunity remain open to all.
