East Bridge University will host a 2-day in-person workshop for all our doctorate students on Research Methodology at the EBU Training Centre, Dubai Knowledge Park. The trainer for the workshop will be Dr Janat Blackmon, who is the Director General at East Bridge University. The workshop is designed to empower our doctoral candidates with the knowledge of conducting proper research and developing robust research papers, which includes structuring their thesis, choosing the correct methodology, and aligning their research questions with findings.

About ‘Research Methodology - Simplified’ Workshop

The workshop is a two-day event set to take place on the 25th and 26th of November 2026 at the Dubai Training Centre of East Bridge University. Researchers often face issues while developing their research papers, such as thesis structuring, aligning research questions, or making methodological choices. This workshop, conducted by Dr Janat Blackmon, will address these problems often faced by our doctoral candidates.

This 2-day intensive workshop is designed to make research methodology clear, practical, and achievable, where students will gain a strong foundation, practical tools, and confidence

to complete their thesis successfully. By the end of this workshop, students will have a clear roadmap for their research journey - from methodology to thesis completion - and the tools to succeed as a doctorate scholar at EBU.

• Methodological decisions: pros and cons.
• Data collection methods explained.
• Validity, reliability & trustworthiness.

Day 2: From Paper to Thesis

• Understanding Every Section of a Research Paper.
• Walkthrough of sample papers from start to finish.
• Structuring a Thesis Outline (APA 7th Edition Format).
• Practical Q&A and thesis-building tips.

By successfully being part of this workshop, students will earn a CPD-UK-accredited Certificate in Research Methodology. This will further add to their portfolio of academic achievements and increase their professional and academic credibility in the global sphere.

About the Trainer: Dr Janat Blackmon

With over 18 years of diverse experience in the field of education, Dr Janat Blackmon has worked across nations in prominent roles as educator, administrator, reading interventionist, and workshop presenter. She holds a PhD in Educational Leadership from Assumption University and is a seasoned professional in research mentoring, curriculum design, Montessori training and IB PYP.

Dr Janat is highly regarded for her expertise in leadership, differentiation, assessment, and educational strategies, regularly serving as a keynote speaker, guest lecturer, and trainer at academic events. She has mentored hundreds of research scholars and doctoral students, making complex research methods simple, actionable, and relevant.
