As conversations around educator well-being continue to gain global importance, East Bridge University is set to host an international live webinar titled “You’re Not Failing — The System Is: A New Way to Understand Teacher Burnout and Recovery” on 23 May 2026.
The session will be led by Dr. Heleen Heydenreich, an education and wellness specialist known for her work in teacher development, curriculum leadership, trauma-informed educational practice, and educator recovery frameworks.
Designed as a focused academic engagement for B.Ed and M.Ed learners, educators, school leaders, and academic professionals, the webinar reflects EBU’s growing emphasis on addressing real-world challenges within modern education systems through meaningful, research-informed dialogue.
At the centre of the session is a critical but increasingly urgent question:
What if teacher burnout is not simply an individual struggle, but a systemic issue embedded within educational structures themselves?
This webinar will explore how institutional pressures, emotional labour, workload expectations, and long-term professional strain contribute to burnout among educators across different educational settings. Rather than approaching recovery as a matter of individual resilience alone, the session aims to introduce participants to a more structured and sustainable understanding of educator well-being.
Drawing from nearly three decades of international academic and professional experience, Dr. Heydenreich will introduce the Teacher Wellness & Recovery Framework, a research-driven model that combines educational psychology, leadership development, practical teaching insight, and recovery-oriented strategies for educators and institutions.
Key areas of discussion during the session will include:
The webinar will follow a guided and reflection-oriented format, allowing participants to engage with the subject in a thoughtful and academically grounded environment. The session is expected to strengthen EBU’s ongoing engagement with contemporary issues in teacher education and professional development while creating meaningful dialogue around educator wellness, institutional responsibility, and sustainable academic practice.
The webinar will be conducted across multiple international time zones:
Thailand: 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
India: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
UAE: 2:30 PM – 4:30 PM
France (Paris): 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM
Through initiatives such as this, East Bridge University continues to expand conversations around education beyond curriculum delivery alone, encouraging deeper reflection on the systems, environments, and support structures that shape the experiences of educators worldwide.
