East Bridge University recently conducted a webinar on Cybersecurity Awareness and Digital Resilience led by Dr. Harsha Thennarasu. Dr. Harsha Thennarasu is an internationally acclaimed cybersecurity expert, holding a Ph.D. in Information Security. He serves as the Chief Cyber Défense Advisor at HKIT Security Solutions, with operations across India and Singapore.
The webinar titled “Empowering the Digital Generation for a Secure Cyberspace: Building Careers, Ensuring Privacy, and Upholding Legal Compliance” was aimed at students, educators, and working professionals aspiring to safeguard the digital future. Students at East Bridge University attended the webinar from all across the globe and studying different disciplines. The session affirmed the need for cybersecurity across various domains and highlighted the areas of potential risks faced by today’s professionals.
It was a highly engaging session with participants interacting with the speaker and asking their own questions and doubts regarding cybersecurity. The webinar was centred around demystifying cyber threats and explored areas such as ethical hacking, cybersecurity challenges, and mitigation strategies.
Dr Harsha is a US Army and Indian Army-approved Cyber Security Auditor and an advisor to the Government of India. He has over 700+ global cybersecurity projects and 16+ national and international awards. With such intensive and vast professional experience, he is known to conduct empowering and insightful sessions that are known for practicality and inspiration for today’s learners.

The webinar was an attempt at bridging the gap between academic understanding and practical defence mechanisms in an AI-driven world. Our students gained valuable insights about the cybersecurity space and explored structured career paths in ethical hacking and cyber defence, while gaining awareness of global data protection and privacy laws.
