East Bridge University is actively working with academic institutions in different regions to support international dialogue in higher education. Recently, Prof. Dr Sanjib Chakraborty travelled to Vietnam to meet with academic leaders and discuss how collaboration could help achieve shared educational goals.
While in Vietnam, Prof. Chakraborty met with leaders from Hanoi Open University and Vietnam Maritime University. These meetings gave everyone a chance to share ideas about how universities can work together to create learning pathways that meet the needs of students and professionals as education changes.
Exploring Flexible Academic Pathways
The main focus of the discussions was on developing dual degree programs, credit transfer options, and systems that recognise micro-learning credits. These ideas show that universities are more interested in flexible study models, letting students move between schools and earn recognised academic credits over time.
These frameworks are especially helpful for working professionals and international students who want study options that fit with their jobs. By finding ways to connect academic organisations, universities can make learning more accessible and help students keep up with their studies.
Partnership and Dialogue in Higher Education
Conversations between universities often start long-term partnerships. They help schools understand each other's academic priorities, education systems, and areas of expertise.
For us, this kind of engagement reflects the spirit of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, especially SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. As promoting the UN SDGs has been a continuous motto for East Bridge University, such academic meetings form a part of the broader aspect.
By keeping open conversations and working on shared projects, EBU strives to make education systems more connected and better able to meet students' changing needs.
Continuing the Conversation
The meetings with Hanoi Open University and Vietnam Maritime University are just the first step in exploring future academic collaboration between these schools and East Bridge University. These academic meetups show a strong commitment to working together in higher education.
